They use Motivational Based Interviewing. (MBI) Do your research and be prepared to attempt to put a positive spin in very negative questions/situations. The questions seem intended to bring out negativity but they are looking for positive responses.

We understand that not all situations can be resolved in a favorable way. What we find important is that with each obstacle encountered some action was taken to result in an outcome. Not all outcomes will be desirable and some will present learning opportunities for growth and development.
