The position that I interviewed for was a lateral move in another department. It was posted internally and anyone interested was welcome to speak with the team and their managers for more information regarding the position. First, any interested party had to send an e-mail expressing why they were interested in the position. The management team provided feedback to all who applied and let me know that while I had transferable skills, I was not going to be considered for the second round, which consisted of a group interview.
