Management showed no integrity and little respect for the job seeker Did I get an offer? No. Did I "not get an offer?" No. I never heard from them after the interview. If there's some sort of phone calling game that I'm supposed to initiate after the interview to show that I'm really interested, I'm unaware of it. I decided to take them at their word that they would contact me. On to my experience: The Captain and Mate were friendly and I was asked what integrity means shortly before the interview was over. The way they posed the question, I was under the impression this was important to them. Of course it is.... to everyone. I answered something along the lines of being honest, following through and doing what you say you are going to do and being accountable for your actions. Apparently, that seemed a reasonable answer as they did not discuss integrity any further. A few minutes later, when the interview was over, I was told by them I would be contacted "within a day or two, either way" so I'm "not left hanging." Well, I got the same treatment from them as I get from a stranger on Cragslist who says they're coming over to look at what I'm selling in an hour, but they never show up nor are they ever heard from again. The one and ONLY THING Trader Joe's said they would do, they didn't do. What is integrity? Good question, Trader Joe's. It's unfortunate because I had in my mind that this would be a good place to work. Employers that say one thing and do another are not good places to work. Whether they thought I was a fit or not is not a reason to abandon their integrity. It's my experience that they see prospective employees as disposable and looking for employment is just not that important of a situation. It must have been a long time time since they last looked for a job. So, I'm done with Trader Joe's. I no longer have any desire to work there nor step foot in their stores and give them any more of my family's business. Character counts.
