This was Transmit Security’s third reach out. Previously it simply was not the right time or right role. Until the most recent interaction, I always walked with a very high opinion of Transmit Security: a professional organization with smart individuals that had high emotional intelligence. I want to be clear, I never formally applied. I had a number of conversations with the Head of Product Marketing about “culture” which seems hilarious now. Shortly after recusing myself, the external recruiter that was walking me through the process resigned! Transmit Security has become the perfect storm of low EQ and high ego. The net-net: Transmit Security gives a masterclass in weaponized incompetence. With an ego forward internal communication style that leans into high degrees of disrespect and uncensored isms. After I recused myself, I walked away thinking: how did a rather professional and people first organization deteriorate into a bro centered culture? Take a hard look at the team! If you do not look like them, you are wasting your time. Good tech, but not worth the mental drama.
