Process was drawn out. The HR assistant (who is very pleasant) does the initial phone screening, if you make it through she'll schedule an interview with the Global Recruiting Manager. That's where it goes downhill - HR seemed disorganized. The interview was all over the place, and not in a good way. Made it to the next round for a in-person interview with the District Manager. Be sure to ask questions! This is your opportunity to get a feel for the business and your role. If you make it to the next round, you'll meet with the Regional Manager (who is completely unprofessional and arrogant). He seemed to have an attitude of being "too comfortable." When you're applying for a sales role the last thing you want to hear is that 25% of the team makes targets. Any intelligent person knows that clearly affects your income. Travelzoo should stick to what their business started as, not compete with a dying (Groupon) industry.

It was an exciting process from start to finish. If you love traveling and helping people experience the most in life, this company is for you. TravelZoo is well established and team members love the benefits and perks. I'm looking forward to starting at the end of September.

Applied online and was contacted via email a couple days later by the recruiter about setting up a phone interview with her. I arranged to take an early lunch from work on the day and time of our scheduled call just to have it be a total waste since the recruiter never called me. After 15 minutes of waiting for her call, I emailed and tried calling her to see if she forgot, no response until the next day where she simply said she had a meeting run over so that's why she missed the call. Asked me to reschedule the call, I agreed, and guess what- she did it again! Once again I wasted time arranging for a late lunch this time so that I can step out of the office to do the call with her, but once again, she missed the call. Emailed and tried calling her like last time and when she finally responded, I foolishly agreed to give her a third chance by rescheduling the phone interview yet again. This time, she did call, asked a few simple questions and said she would be emailing me in a couple days with a day/time for me to interview with the sales manager and another higher up. After over a week of not hearing anything from her. I emailed her to follow up, no response. Waited another week and sent another follow up only to get some convoluted reply from her saying that the company decided to put a hiring freeze on the position I had interviewed for.
Honestly, if Travelzoo hired such an unprofessional person to be their recruiter, then it doesn't say much for their hiring standards.
