      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Tubular Labs (Mountain View, CA) nel mese di lug 2015

      Colloquio

The process started with two phone interviews. The questions cover both programming and systems knowledge which is very much to be expected for this role. The second phone screen made sense as I would need to be flown in from Canada for the on site interview. The on site interview was a great experience. There were four technical interviews again covering a good range of programming questions. Nothing overly difficult but certainly tests different areas of knowledge. If you've spent time on problems from hackerrank.com or similar coding challenge sites you will likely be well prepared. After the technical interviews I was given a demo of the product (It was nice to actually see the product in action). At the end I also had a chance to talk with Rob (the CEO) about the company and what the current challenges are. I appreciated him taking the time to chat with me and answer any questions I had. One thing that was clear at every step of the way is how much people enjoy working at Tubular. I came away from the interview feeling excited about the opportunity and later accepted an offer. I've been working at Tubular for just over a month and am loving it. There is no shortage of interesting/challenging problems to work on and its a great atmosphere with a lot of very smart people. For anyone thinking about a move to the bay area I have nothing but good to say about the whole relocation process. Any move can be stressful (especially an international move) but all my questions and concerns were answered very quickly. My advise for anyone coming for an interview is to show how passionate you are about your work and learning in general. Running through a few coding challenge questions on something like hackerrank.com is probably a good idea too.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Touch on distributed systems, a graph theory question (fairly basic).
