Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite l'università. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Turner Construction (Washington, DC) nel mese di set 2015
Colloquio
I initially met some HR representatives through a career fair at my University. I was asked to an initial 30 minute interview on campus two days later. The interviewers were both very nice and the atmosphere was fairly laid back. It was a two part interview. The first half was conversational during which we discussed my resume and experience and I had an opportunity to ask a few questions of them. The second half was more structured as they asked several behavioral questions to get a sense of how I would react in certain situations and assess how I had handled certain situations common to construction projects.
Roughly one week later I received an email from the same HR representative I had interviewed with asking if would like to come up to their regional office for an all day, round-robin style interview and site visit. The experience was very pleasant. They paid for a hotel room and provided a travel stipend as the office was about 2 hours away from where I live and we (the other interviewees and I) needed to be at the office at 9am. The process was a little much for what I think they needed to do - six 30 minute interviews - but everyone was very nice and the interviews were pretty laid back. The interviewers ranged from HR representatives, project managers, project executives and a senior superintendent. Most discussions were conversational regarding resumes, experience, career goals and desired starting position. There were ample opportunities to ask questions of them as well. After the interviews, lunch was provided and we were joined by several other employees and discussed some of their current and past projects while we ate. After lunch, we went on a site visit and met with the project manager and project engineer.
The overall process was very pleasant and I received an unofficial offer from them a few weeks after the office interviews. Upon request, I gave them my desired salary range and they returned with the unofficial offer and a salary of about 2/3 of what I had requested and provided no room for negotiation. Having over 10 years of construction and project management experience prior to going to college, I declined to consider a salary so low which I felt reflected an entry level position for a typical college graduate with no experience.

Very smooth process with open communication. Multiple rounds with very friendly individuals. The get-back time was a little slower than I would have preferred, but still a great process overall.

Went very smoothly and the HR was calm and thorough in explaining the role and the company culture and expectations. The main focus was on the construction background and the problem solving skills.

The interview process was straightforward and professional. I first applied online and was contacted by a recruiter a few days later. The interview consisted of a conversation about my experience, previous projects, technical skills, and how I handle teamwork and deadlines. The interviewer was friendly and explained the responsibilities of the role clearly. The process was organized and overall the difficulty felt average.
