Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Tutor.com (Spokane, WA) nel mese di set 2015
Colloquio
The interview is actually a virtual mock tutoring session. First you must pass subject test for the areas you wish to tutor in (at least two). If you pass these online subject quizzes, you go on to schedule a mock session through their online scheduling page. Pretty easy. The mock session will be with a "mentor" who connect with you through the virtual classroom by voice interaction, which you must download first. You also must have a headset with a microphone BEFORE the session. The session is about 15 minutes of talking to the mentor, mostly to see how you interact with the online classroom. Then you connect to the chat function and the mentor will act like student you are tutoring for about 20 minutes. Then the mentor will stop you and you go back to voice contact to talk about the position. I found the process quite easy, but I been teaching tutoring in my subject area for 5+ years. I hope this was helpful!

"Do you have any questions for me? " asked the mentor.
Fairly simple, was an online interview, had to review material before hand and provide analysis of said information when asked. Asked about experience with tutoring/education. Should get back to you after 2 weeks.

How would you explain how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich to a student who was struggling with the task.
I was scheduled twice for an online interview and both times the interviewer never showed. When I contacted their support team I was told both times to refer to the PDF troubleshooting guide.
First, you apply online. The application took less than 15 minutes. Then, you must pass at least two exams - specific to a top you want to tutor. However, you are not able to take the exam for each subject that the service advertises. Subjects are offered to tutors on a need based timeline. Next, you must conduct a virtual interview. It took approximately 30 minutes and half of the interview was chat based and half of the interview was on voice chat. Overall, if you are a competent tutor and have adequate social skills, you should have no problems passing the interview.

What is an impactful tutoring experience you have had? Why do you want to become a tutor? If a student forgot how to make a PB&J sandwich, how would you help him?
