I applied for the Software Developer Internship for summer 2016 in October, and I heard back from HR in December. I had a brief HR phone screening as to why I was interested in applying for the internship (maybe about 20 minutes), and at the end of the call I was offered an onsite interview, scheduled for January. I had bought McDowll's "Cracking the Coding Interview" in order to prepare for my interview at Tyler, as I was expecting to be asked specific technical questions. The on-site consisted of two separate interviews with two groups of Technical Product Managers (about four managers in each interview). Each interview was about a half hour. While this set up might seem a little intimidating, the questions that were asked were not specific coding problems. Instead, each manager had a copy of my resume and asked me questions about my previous internship, projects I had worked on, a development challenge I've face and how I overcame it, etc. I get really nervous during interviews so this conversational style worked much better for me. All the managers I spoke with were very nice and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me to see if I'd be a good fit for their internship program.
