I was first vetted on the phone. After they reviewed my application, I met with multiple department heads. The gave me a low offer at the very beginning and I had to negotiate. It resulted in a slight bump. I am glad that I always negotiate the first offer. The whole process took about a month. Very typical. I would say that each department in UCLA does things differently. The only constant factor is that we all get paid on the low end of the market.

Received call for interview. Went in for an interview with immediate supervisor. Returned for a second interview with the head of the department. Offered the position after a couple of days.
