Went for a transfer to continue working past end of contract. Had 2 interviewers as members of the respective team. Positive interview but later learnt they publicly advertised a role they had earmarked for someone. Disappointing practices from an internal role.

Started with basic introductions and a run down of the interview structure. The interview was competency-based. Very technical questions no past experience questions felt like an oral exam. They were assessing whether or not the candidate had very specific knowledge of the role. Also included a practical assessment to assess your competency.

Quick 20 minute interview. It had a conversation feel to it. Some of the questions were hard but mainly okay. The interview questions are mainly around on your previous experience rather than knowledge. Very few scientific knowledge based questions.
