I was being brought in as a contractor, however I rolled into a full time employee. It was a good set of interviews. I had two phone interviews; one with a Cloud Director, and another with a subject matter expert. For the most part, the interviews quickly "devolved" into conversations about the tool and product, as well as the project I was being brought in for. It felt less like an interview, and more like a pointed technical discussion, similar to one you might engage in daily at the office. It's fantastic, because you don't need to sweat tricky interview questions. If you know the subject of the position you're being interviewed for, you'll do great. If you don't, you won't. Simple as that. The one strange part was that I was never brought in for an in-person interview, despite the fact I lived less than 20 miles from the office. After the two phone interviews, I was offered the position. I'm not sure if this is typical, or it's because I nailed the interviews. The questions I've listed occurred very early in the interview. "What made you decide to leave your previous industry and become a Data Analyst?" is actually the question that turned it into a conversation about data analytics, and the project I was being hired on for.
