Unprofessional interview process with repeated design assessment requests (5 total), raising concerns about potential design theft and a possible job scam. The process went like this: Applied > Phone Interview > Design Assessment > Virtual Interview > 3 more design requests (1 optional, and I only submitted 2 due to unclear instructions) > Asked for in-person interview availability > Rejection email a week later. You see why I’m suspicious? Poor communication, a lack of clarity in what they were looking for in a candidate, and an unnecessarily extensive and drawn-out process (I’ve had shorter interview experiences with Fortune 500 companies that didn’t require free labor) left me questioning their integrity and how they treat their employees. All of this for a $50-$60K in-person position. Honestly, I wouldn’t take them seriously for a real designer role anyway—they sent a Canva template as an example of their work (no shade to Canva, but come on). In hindsight, I’m glad they didn’t move forward because I was going to reject the offer, and I’ve since accepted a better position at a larger company with a salary to match. Moving forward, I’ll be closely monitoring their website and social media profiles to ensure that none of my designs, or even variations inspired by them, are being used. If I find any evidence of this, I will not hesitate to take legal action if possible. Would not recommend if you have significant experience as a Designer or Creative professional.
