The interview was 25 minutes long and I was asked very straightforward competency-based questions. I would say is that their job application process is extremely long and unwieldy. 1) The application submission portal is tedious, and after uploading your resume you still have to manually fill in information about your work history. They ask for salaries from all your old employment (which is illegal where I live). 2) At the interview they said it will take them 6 weeks to get back to you. That's fine, but it usually takes longer and most teams do not reply to people they have interviewed to update them if they are not selected. 3) The portal keeps old applications active - I'm sure it's not difficult for an HR person to send a generic "you have not been selected" email once a position is filled - alas, no such thing ever happens. UNDP could learn a thing or two from their UNICEF and World Bank counterparts. The UNICEF application portal is really great, and the World Bank HR lets people know when they have not been selected, which is the bare minimum of what HR departments should be doing.
