Most posts go through a multi-level screening process - first general shortlisting at the Headquarters level, then a second level of short listing at the country office level. This is usually followed by a written test to verify technical skills, and finally for those who pass through all of these levels of vetting, a competency based interview.

Tell me about a time when you had to translate a work-related strategy into actions and plans.
What did you specifically do that was effective?
There was a competency-based interview, approx 30 min. Several general competency questions and a couple of technical questions. Went fine, I did not receive a job offer though, yet experience was just good.

Managing teams - how would you approach team planning, performance, development etc.
Why did I apply etc.
Interview was competency based, no written less than an hour. There was no written test. Technical competencies were evaluated but not extensively. The post interview processes took long but eventually cleared.

Interview consisted of two parts, an automated video assessment and an oral interview. The automated interview had two questions and each question was allocated five minutes of recording time. the automated interview also allowed you to repeat the question once. The questions were fair enough and were context specific . The oral interview was competency based and took about forty minutes.
