There is no interview process unless it is a high visibility position. Most positions are filled based on performance reports. Reports are submitted by the supervisore every 6 months for the first 2 years and then annually.

The process to become an officer in the US Military is long and requires a lot of patience. There is an in person interview, background check, multiple IQ / Competency tests, there is also a personality test. If you are accepted you spend either 4 years in ROTC through college or 3 months in intense "Boot Camp" Style officer training school. It's not easy but it is definitely worth it.

Took awhile to get a hold of a recruiter. The quickest methods are through a ROTC program at a university or attend the academy if you qualify. The process was long and involved the individual helping the recruiter because they were overwhelmed with paperwork. If you are patient and you want the position, take the time to help them when needed (have your documents ready, etc.).
I attended a service academy, which has an interview process like none other. It involved a Congressional nomination, medical exams, essays and the like. It was long, but guaranteed me employment for over a decade.
