No interview process for most units. A common trend among Brigade Commanders (the leader who selects Company Commanders) is to have them first serve on the Brigade staff when they arrive to a unit out of their Captain's Career Course. There they will be assessed and selected for Command

I had the experience of spending the morning doing PT with him and then we ate lunch together, and had an interview later that afternoon.

I then set up an in-person interview with the Institute Commander.
Always wear ASUs to a company command interview unless specifically instructed to wear duty uniform!
