      Candidatura

La procedura ha richiesto più di una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso USAA (San Antonio, TX) nel mese di feb 2018

      Colloquio

In the beginning fairly positive, upbeat with lots of traction. Presented through an executive placement firm X, whom I highly respected and have had a relationship with roughly 10 years or so. Now the opening which I was being considered for has been vacant roughly 2-3 months. I was informed (or misinformed) my background hit all the bullets which met most if not all “wish list” items they to date, have not found so I truly thought (naive perhaps) my professional background and indirect DoD experiences were very compatible Both recruiters from the firm and USAA gave me some tips and to stick to the bullet points I brought to the table. Interview was setup with peer who was only with company 7 months. The first 10 minutes of our meeting was about “her” so that ate into my time to pass this hurtle. After sticking to the advice of “the insiders” with interview tips, I received the infamous kick me to the curb letter. I followed up with both citing I stuck to the script and this was the thanks I received. So much for USAA being voted one of the most ethical because there is a disconnect somewhere in the HR circuit board. In 20 years have I ever received such bad advice and dysfunction. I’m embarrassed for those in the company who are 5 star employees, only to be led by the unknowing, trying to do the impossible for the ungrateful. I know I have my developmental areas to this day, however if a candidate has had success prior, nowadays it seems to be held against you. My only conclusion is at USAA, HR is part of the problem and not the solution.
