after setting up a video call, I got on and the professor asked me how much time I had during the week, It was not a technical interview where I had to solve problems
For most of these positions I recommend reaching out to the professor you are interested in working with and ask them to work in their research lab. It helps to read their research papers beforehand as well to get a better idea.

It was mainly based on the previous works I have done and some basic questions from my area of expertise and behavioral questions to see if I am a good match for the team or not
