I applied for this role and then received a link to answer questions via a video app. I then received a call from HR to say they want to interview me via video conferencing as this was at the start of Covid. I was asked to prepare a presentation. She also mentioned that if I pass stage 1, I would go onto stage 2 where the interview will be with one of the directors. They had also said that if I was to get the role, because of Covid, they would send out all the equipment to my home address and would have to work from home.
I found the prep for the presentation fine, however I felt the interview was a little strange as the questions asked were around the presentation and there was no question about me and my background.
After the interview, a few weeks later (as they told me they would take 2 weeks for a response) I received an automated email to say I had withdrawn my application, which I was really shocked about. I had to email the HR contact to ask what this was all about and she said they are pulling the role because of Covid and they are freezing all recruitment. At first, I thought this was understandable but then they had said to me earlier that they would send out equipment (to anyone who would have got that role) but also it was a lie because I saw they were still posting jobs on several websites.
