Overall a good experience. The role is to support their commodities trading desk in Dusseldorf with importance on post-trade skills. Applied on the company website after a friend recommended who worked as an Intern in 2020. Had a couple of years of experience in IB MO so I felt I will definitely get a callback. Got the call back from them for a 1st interview with the reporting manager and Dept. head. Followed by another interview with the same reporting manager and senior member from the dept. Both interviews were remote and about an hour long. Most of the questions were competency and behaviour based and they wanted to check if the candidates will fit with their company culture. As most of the operational work isn't very technical there were hardly any questions of that sort. One very interesting thing was that both the interview rounds followed a similar pattern. Was expecting to be selected but received the answer from the hiring manager that I lost to someone with similar experience and background. There is however a change to be called back as the manager was expecting a reshuffle within the team and subsequently another analyst in their team.
