      Colloquio

I applied back in October and was invited to an interview in December. As soon as I found out I was invited to the interview, I got to work studying. I bought the book "The Complete Flight Attendant Interview Work Book" by, Sasha Robinson. I would highly recommend. I did a lot of time studying forums about people who have gone to this interview and reading their feedback and what their experience was along with reading ALL of the wikipedia section about United Airlines. I also studied and practiced different flight attendant intercom announcements as I heard you will have to read an announcement at the interview. I also got a letter of recommendation from my past manager and I would recommend one of those as well. It helps them to remember you. I got into Houston Jan 20th and met up with the the guy and we went to the hotel (countryside Inn I believe). Before getting ready I went down and ate a good breakfast (make sure that whatever hotel you stay at has a continental breakfast... it helped more than you know). If you are wondering about a suit, I wore the Continental Airline colors. I wore a dark navy blue thin pin striped suit with an ocean blue shirt and a gold tie. Anyways, I got on the bus at 8:00 AM and the bus ride was about 5 minutes. I walked into the room and there were already a good 75 people in the room. At first it was overwhelming seeing everybody in the room because immediately I thought, how. the. heck. am. I. supposed. to. stand. out. from. all. these. people? I stood in the line to turn in my paperwork (resume, letter of recommendation etc.) at the back of the room where about 4-5 recruiters were sitting telling you your flight time home and getting a name tag and so on. promptly at 9 AM they close the doors and the head guy goes up to speak. They played a short film about the company then right after that, a guy with questions and answers went to the front of the room and had people ask questions as recruiters called people in one on one. Of course I went to the bathroom and when I was in the bathroom, they had called for me. lol I opened the door back into the main room and the recruiter walked out and saw me and was like... are you so and so? I promptly responded YES! with a firm handshake and a warm smile. I got my stuff and followed him into a room where he sat me down and we went over basic things he talked about my resume and what was on it. and he asked me about my past and what I could bring to the table. He asked why I wanted to be a Flight attendant and why for United. He had me read an announcement you would hear on a flight. then continued to ask me questions about being on reserve and you could be on reserve for 10 years or so. STOP. right here is where you are most valuable to them. You need to have burning desire or want to be with the company and to expand your horizons in this lifestyle.... if you are unsure, Forget even going. I responded that I didnt see the time I had to serve on reserve as a negative thing, but as a way I could grow in the company and I looked at it as a new beginning to my life and anything with change would be such an adventure... I said that only because it was complete honesty. That pretty much summed up the first interview and he pulled me aside and gave me a slip of paper saying to come back for a second interview. but to be descrete about it. When we arrived at the recruitment center once again after lunch, We went back into the same initial room as when we first got there and there were more than half the people gone. They called us in for a second 1 on 1. It was a different guy and he was also nice, but WAY MORE to the point and he didn't talk as much. he ask me questions a lot more about my past history, why I stayed at my job for only 3 months and why I left my jobs and so on. He also asked me a lot of situational questions, How do you handle stress, tell me a time where you dealt with an angry customer and what did you do? and also one that completely stumped me, tell me a time where you saw a co-worker doing something unsafe in the workplace and how did you react and what did you do? We then were called in one by one for a panel interview. they sat me down and they asked me again about being on reserve and if Im ok with it. they also talked to me about their tattoo policy and after a brief conversation. they offered me the job. My advice to you, Bring a good attitude to the interview, bring lots of stories of past jobs, emphasize on how much you want this job with this company (study the company's history and what they want. what their future goals are), and be able to turn any negative question into a positive answer. That last one is very important but with that last tip, don't lie to make a story positive. Be honest! Study, Have fun, take anything you go through as a learning experience, smile, and most of all, BE YOURSELF! I can't stress that enough!

the face to face live video interview with a HR personnel. I collected all possible questions from reddit to glassdoor and formulate my answers and thought they're going to ask the same questions but they didn't. The HR kind of tell that I have a ready made answers so she stirred the interview differently so my answer will be organic. Thankfully I passed this 30 minute interview. The interviewer did not look interested because she is multi-tasking but best believe she is listening to your answers.

I’m heading to the F2F interview in TX. Every step so far has not been difficult for me. I also have no prior knowledge in being a FA. The hardest part so far is probably just the nerves and anxiety. Just prep well, do some research, have some basic questions and answer prepared so that even if they ask a different question you can possibly use one of the scenarios of another question and tailor it to the new one.

I conducted my online assessment with questions about company policy, seating charts and customer requests with what is allowed and what isn't. I took my time with every question and reviewed it twice before submitted and now I'am invited to the virtual interview.

They gave you scenarios of situations and then gave you charts of company policy for food service and you had to answer helping the customer but following company policy.
