Contacted by a recruiter who set-up an on-site interview. Upon arriving to the facility, I wanted to turn around and leave, but I'd driven 2 1/2 hours under the notion that I could work remotely, as 25% of the duties where related to travel. The office-space was dimly lit and the people generally looked beaten and dissatisfied - no one smiled. The HR Director really prodded into confidential material that I was not willing to divulge due to NDA with the government (a huge no no). This woman truly thought she was above NS contracts, or simply didn't understand them. I called the recruiter as soon as I left and noted that I would not, under any circumstances work at that facility - ever. I also noted that the HR director did not care for my responses, but I was not thereto appease her. I'm an honest and loyal individual, so I couldn't have cared less if she was put off by my responses.

I was asked more background questions moreso than anything related to project management or engineering, which was disappointing.

The interview took 2.5 hours. I met with several people separately. A Wonderlick test was administered at the end of the interview. It was given on the spot and they will not tell you ahead of time so be prepared to take it without warning. I met with the hiring manager, head of sales, a project manager, and the head of HR. The interview setting was informal and I was shown the production floor and allowed to ask questions. The interviewers had very few pre-planned questions. It was more of a discussion. The company seems busy and excited to get into a new building being built across the street, but things are currently very cramped in the office area as a result of recent growth. They did not adequately describe the job duties, so ask plenty of questions about what daily work will entail.

How would you handle a customer that asks for certain features or services in a product that cannot be provided and tries to apply pressure to get them added to the project?
