      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso UnitedHealth Group (Horsham, PA) nel mese di feb 2012

      Colloquio

The process starts with a phone screen from Recruiting. It's simple, generic questions intended to prove that I am not an idiot and can hold a basic conversation. Then the hiring manager does a phone screen. This lasted about 30 min. The manager asked about my experience with Excel, the size of the data sets I work with, and some questions about my work background. Then you wait. About a week later, I got called for an in-person interview. This consisted of three separate interviewers: the hiring manager, the director above her, and an unrelated director for an outsider's perspective. The interviews were about 30 min long. I meshed well with the hiring manager, the director kind of scared me (funny bc he's a great guy), and the unrelated director just talked a lot, so I let him run with it. Then you wait again. While waiting for an answer, I received a job offer at another company. I really liked UHG, so I emailed the hiring manager to ask for a status update. I let her know that I had another offer waiting. She wrote me back first thing the next morning with an urgent, "Call me." Turns out, she had told Recruiting to offer me the job a full two days before. She was shocked that I hadn't been notified yet. She rushed to get the paperwork processed because Recruiting took so long. Honestly, if it wasn't for that polite status request, they would have lost me as a candidate. Recruiting is known to move slowly, and I'm sure they lose great talent because of it.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

The interviews were not complicated at all. None of this "critical behavioral questions" mumbo jumbo. The interviewers just asked about my relevant background and what I could bring to the table. From my experience, I don't think anyone preps the interviewers with HR techniques. This was one of the least stressful interview experiences. (Aside from the snail's pace of Recruiting!)
