      In the technical interview, the interviewer was specifically looking for a particular approach that strictly adhered to Go (Golang) syntax and conventions. The difficulty level was high with hard leetcode problem.

      Colloquio

      Uplight initially reached out to me via a job searching platform for the senior role. The interview process consisted of an initial call with a recruiter, then a call with a hiring manager. Next I was asked to complete an online personality test and an online IQ test. I was then asked to complete a coding assessment which took between 2 and 3 hours. This was to be the jumping off point for the on-site interview. The on-site interview consisted of 3 parts, a technical portion discussion the coding assignment, and then 2 behavioral based interviews. I was eventually turned down because they felt that I "didn't have enough years of experience", which could have been determined based on my resume before wasting two months of my time. At that point I was offered to interview for a DevOps engineer position (not senior level). I was given one more 30 minute phone call with the DevOps manager. I was then reached out to and told I "didn't have enough experience", this time for a mid-level role expecting 1-5 years of experience based on the job description (I have 5 years of professional experience). And again, if I don't have enough experience that should be clear by viewing my resume, not after wasting 2 months of my time, and especially when they reached out to me initially. The recruiter I was working with was unprofessional as well. He would promise to get back to me by a certain day and not get back to me for days or even a week after his promised time. He consistently forgot to send me meeting invites to the point where I would have to send reminders to him. Overall it seems like I really dodged a bullet (like the glassdoor reviews indicate). I would run if this company contacted me again.
