I went to my local macy's on a monday and dropped off my resume to the counter. I got to speak to the assistant manager and she asked me if I'm comfortable selling and talking to clients/customers. I said yes, and she said she would give me a call. Two days later (weds), I recieved a phone call from her to set up an audition and interview. (Audition = traffic stopping) We set the appointment for Friday which was in 2-3 days. Before my audition/interview, I researched alot about the company and made sure I looked the part. I curled my hair, wore mainly urban decay products, black jumper with black jeans & low cut heels. When I got to the counter, the assistant manager told me that the Manager was not in yet and she has not been able to reach her for a few hours. We went ahead and did the audition anyways. I wasn't really instructed anything except to try to stop people walking by the counter as they're shopping and show them some products. This process was 35 minutes long, I got 2 clients, and 1 sale. I wasn't being completely watched but assistant manager was always near by. Right when I was done with my 2nd customer, the assistant manager pulled me aside and said once she's done with paperwork, we would go do the verbal part of the process. We walked into the mall and interviewed me. She said she loved my energy and would notify the manager that week. One week had passed with no phone calls, so I called the counter but no answer. I decided to drop by in person, and the assistant manager apologized and said I would have to audition again and interview with the manager this time. I agreed and one week later I came back and the manager was not there again. I was a bit frustrated but I was very understanding. I ended up going to a different location 15 miles away and only did an verbal interview. It went great, then two days later I called the acc cord & did a phone interview and got hired! Now in process of training/drugtesting/ID check!
