I interviewed for a Service Desk Manager position Valent had posted back in November but didn't receive a job offer. I don't have a problem that I didn't receive an offer because I understand decisions are made by hiring managers based on their comfort level and how they think a candidate will fit in their environment. I do have a problem with the utter lack of respect or courtesy provided by HR staff/recruiters when a company decides they want to go in a different direction. I spent 6 + hours over a 3 week period doing phone and in-person interviews but never heard back on their decision. I did reach out for a status update after the process I was ignored by the HR member/recruiter who I dealt with throughout the process prior.
I moved on quickly as it wasn't the right fit for me anyway but am very disappointed the the HR dept at Valent didn't feel I deserved the courtesy of a response when I followed up. I thought 6+ hours was worth a 3 minute email but I guess common courtesy is a thing of the past!
