I applied on an online job board. I got a call from a recruiter who proceeded to criticize my resume and then send me a take home test all within about 5 minutes. The recruiter stated a deadline that was two days which is half of what was listed in the actual take home document. The assignment was basic enough, but it asked me to write in a language that was not what the job would actually be for (Java vs Python). I then had a chat with the hiring manager who was late but nice enough. I was moved forward to the on-site.
The day of the on-site was not great. The address they have listed on google is not actually their address anymore, so make sure to double and triple check where you are going because they did NOT tell me. They asked me to send in verification of vaccine status earlier to make sure I was allowed in the building so I did. Then when I got there, they had never notified the desk that I was coming so the poor desk people had to call up to get me let in.
The on-site interviewers were nice enough, just three one on ones. The first one was only semi technical and more about myself as a developer. The second was a standard system design, nothing crazy or gotcha here. The third was just a conversation again with the hiring manager. They said they would let me know within a couple of days but they never got back to me. Even after making it to the final round they did not even bother to email me a rejection.
The real topper was a couple weeks later I got a message on a job board from the SAME recruiter telling me he’d love for me to apply to a different position they had open but he didn’t even remember me. This, if anything, speaks to how they view and treat interview candidates.
