I read the other negative reviews about the interview process here, but I decided to proceed anyways because it seemed like a cool company. However, after my experience, I do not recommend anyone interview with this company. I had an initial phone call for 30 mins with the CTO, and he was actually a very nice person and likable. After that, the CTO and ValuePenguin decided to move me on to an on-site three weeks out. I had taken time off from work to attend this on-site, and ValuePenguin told me that they were scheduling the interview so far out because the CTO was attending conferences for three weeks. I thought it was weird that it was so far away, but nevertheless, I wanted to do the on-site because the CTO seemed like someone I wouldn’t mind working with. Four days before the interview, I get an email from the company telling me not to come in because they were in an advanced stage with another candidate who they want to make an offer to, and although I appreciate the company’s honesty, this was the most unprofessional interview process I had ever experienced. I really do not recommend anyone interview for them because I believe a company’s interview process speaks volumes about the company itself.
