I interviewed as part of a batch of entry-level contractors trained to meet Vanguard's needs for technical talent. Out of twelve candidates who interviewed, nine were selected. Some of the most technically capable talent was not selected
Technical interview questions focused on mainframes, database administration, syntax of COBOL.
Cultural interview questions focused on communication, teamwork, and organizational fit.

The interview process was very straight forward. After applying, I had a recruiter screen then I was sent a hackerrank with 3 multiple-choice questions and 3 LC-style questions. Then, I participated in a super day that was two rounds, a technical case and a behavioral interview. Super friendly people at each step of the process, great company values.
