I should preface this all by saying that my experience was decidedly different than anyone can really expect. I happened to walk into a Verizon store, got to chatting with the assistant manager, found out they were in need of a store manager, and applied on the spot. With my experience, I feel I had a bit of a leg up on the competition. The interview process was short and, in truth, more of a formality. I had a formal interview with the district manager which lasted about a half an hour. Two days later I was called and informed that I had been hired. Mind you, I'd been working in the telecommunications industry for the better part of ten years and had previous management experience. What's more, I had documentation that validated my success with my former employer.

Very professional and I would recommend being prepared. They are very detailed and this will require multiple interviews with upper management. The manager and district manager were fair in their questions and very accommodating with request. Not to mention that they were both flexible with my schedule.

Basic questions. Have been asked to sell a pen, have been asked anything but. (For a pen, start asking questions about their life like they’d want you to in the store setting. How often do you use it? Do you remember the last pen you used? How important do you think this pen is in your life? Etc)
