The interviewing scientists were mainly interested in learning how well I understood the projects and techniques on my CV, not in how familiar I was with the scientific field that the position would deal with.

I had a thirty minute call with a recruiter about my experiences and my career goals. The next steps would have been meeting with the team as well. The recruiter was very nice and direct.
