I interviewed with approximately 15 different people over the space of three months, which ought to have been a warning sign: this is a company that suffers badly from analysis paralysis. I felt like I was being strung along, with the internal recruiter telling me that she was just finalizing the written offer for—I kid you not—months. They did my background and reference checks and yet weeks went by with no update. I even foolishly agreed to supply W2s from previous employment (I agree with the recommendation against any candidate sharing previous W2 data since roles vary by company and they should be paying market, not based on what I did or did not make previously). The final straw, after three months of being strung along and countless interviews (Hangouts, in person, phone), was when they told me they still weren't sure if I was what they wanted and that they wanted to change course and talk about maybe doing contract work. Hence my feeling that they suffer from analysis paralysis. I'd had enough and withdrew my application. They didn't object, so clearly I wasn't what they wanted, but that doesn't excuse the poor treatment I received. To be fair, people I know who work there love it, but all agree that ViaSat's hiring process is the absolute worst, bar none.
