This was my first retail job and the main stores I was interested in was VS and F21. Since I had 5 malls around my area I applied to their VS and F21 stores. My advice is to apply to as many malls as you can of a particular store if you really want to work there. The first VS store that I got a call back from gave me an interview but they seemed really stuck up because I was applying for the PINK section. I knew I did well on the interview but I guess the way I look did not match what they were looking for (which was ditzy talkative girls, etc) The second mall that called me back gave me 2 interviews. The first one was with the manager, and then the 2nd interview was with an even higher manager. Both interview processes were group interviews. I think both managers from this VS were professional, and was really seeking someone that can work and have the quality and not only based on looks (like the first store). My advice is to just be yourself (if they like who you are and you are genuine, they will take you) Always do your research before you even apply to a job. I did all my research on glassdoor.com and really planned out my answers to the interview questions. Answer questions with confidence and with a good point to it. Don't blabber (but sometimes being talkative gives you an advantage bc 2 really talkative girls in my group were hired even though what they were saying was off topic and pointless) Even though the answer to the question might be short, find a way to lengthen it. Dress in black. Have open availability because they always hire someone with open availability. I think I was called back the next day and was told immediately on the phone my pay rate. I was also called for training the following Monday. Training lasted for 4 days and they are paid as well. I am so glad that this VS hired me because I don't think I would have wanted to work at the first VS that interviewed me because they seemed so fake. They were not interested in what I had to say, and the questions they asked were from a book (because she was holding one). And that manager bought along another worker there that just smirked at my answers constantly. This VS that I work at now all have genuine workers that look like people you can relate to. My experience at a F21 interview was not good either, bc my interview was constantly interrupted, RUDE. Also, they definitely check your references.
