Whole process took about a month. Had an initial chat with a recruiter who was really nice, talked a lot about how awesome the culture is. He said this would be a 3 part interview, with part 2 being a technical interview and part 3 being a coding challenge. He didn’t mention that parts 2 and 3 would be done together. So I had a 45 min zoom with the hiring manager, which I thought would just be the interview portion. He acted uninterested from the get-go and rushed through the entire process. He didn’t ask any tech questions other than “what are you working on” and I hardly got to ask him any question before he cut me off to start the tech portion, which was dom manipulation using vanilla JavaScript. It’s not that it was technically difficult but that it was only about 15 min long. I’m a React dev (which is what they were looking for), so I had to spend most of the time googling specific methods and queries. On top of that, while I was looking at google he made changes to the repl.it I was working from without me noticing, which confused the hell out of me. Needless to say, there just wasn’t enough time for someone who doesn’t primarily use vanillaJS, so I only finished part of the challenge. He cut me off and the interview was done within 30 seconds. The rushed nature of the whole thing was very different from the culture the recruiter described. didn’t
Didn’t hear anything for 3 weeks and then got a canned rejection from the generic recruitment email. Honestly I was prepared to say no even I got it because I got really bad vibes from the interview.
