Two phone interviews and one in-person interview. Ultimately, I did not receive an offer for the position, which was fine. My disappointment in the process followed my in-person interview. During my in-person interview I was told that I would hear back either way - whether moving forward as the final candidate, or not the right fit. About three weeks went by before reaching out to my contact in human resources to ask if the position had been filled, and if there was any specific feedback for me or skills I was lacking that put other candidates ahead of me. I would have been thrilled with a reply that included specifics, but I would have been satisfied in hearing back that the position was filled and appreciation for my time. To my surprise, I didn't get either response, but rather a "do not reply," auto email from Ormat, (Viridity is a subsidiary of Ormat) only a few hours later saying thank you for your application but the position has been filled.
As a human resources professional, I know that there is value in treating candidates (even those that don't receive an offer) with the courtesy of a personal email. If this is the culture and tone the human resources team is promoting, I can honestly agree that I was not the right fit for the company.
