I applied for a recruiting position that I was very much qualified for. They had me take an online assessment which seems pretty biased. Not everyone is a good test taker or they may have disabilities that would lend to not performing well( this was not just a personality test, there was also mathematical questions as well). This doesn’t seem like an accurate way to assess peoples fit/skill set for every position, especially in a world where everyone is trying to hire diverse talent.

The interview process included several steps. The first was a series of surveys and assessments to get in the door -- none of which took very much time. Once those results were reviewed, I had a phone screen with the Vital Farms recruiter. The next step was a phone screen with the hiring manger. I was then brought onsite for an interview with several members of the team. The whole process was seamless, and the internal recruiter kept in touch with me the entire time which made things very friendly and easygoing -- none of that "kept in the dark" stuff. The phone screens were a bit more casual, but the onsite interview offered some tough questions. I definitely would suggest preparing thoroughly in advance, particularly thinking of situational answers to questions. Once onsite, the atmosphere was very welcoming -- everyone I interviewed with was thoughtfully present. I felt respected and like my time was truly valued.
