Colloquio
After applying through LinkedIn I was contacted by an internal recruiter and we had a short basic conversation. He then set up a Skype interview with the VP based in the U.S. about two weeks out. At the time of the interview I was online and waited 15 minutes before reaching out to the recruiter to understand why she had not yet rung me as scheduled. Almost instantly she replies via email that she got stuck on another call and HR would reschedule. No apology and quite terse.
So the interview is rescheduled for the following Sunday. It's bad enough to flake on the interview but then to schedule it on a Sunday evening made it clear that her time mattered and mine didn't, and naturally it would be worse if I was on the team. The actual call was rushed and I'm not sure what the point was. It seems there's a significant cultural difference between the swedish and american executives, at least based on my experience (I don't think any of this would have happened with a Gothenburg based executive).
She asked me one question about my experience and then we talked about the role. She said she would follow up but of course didn't.
The process was quite straightforward:
- HR phone call
- Call with hiring manager and current PO
- Personality test
- Personality test review with HR
- Salary negotiation with the hiring manager
The personality test was quite long and took me 1.5 hours. Otherwise, everything was according to my expectations.
