Recruiter phone call then in person interview with center manager and a team lead. Took about 2 months total but it was during the holiday season. After interview, I received a call back within a week to set up screenings

Very nice interviewer, went fine. Felt comfortable through the whole process. Lasted only about twenty minutes, very standard questions in relation to the mortgage industry and loan processing. Nothing more to add to this, just a basic interview.

I applied through a staffing agency and interviewed with Parker Staffing, they ran a background check, I received a call that said I passed my background then I interviewed with Washington Federal. I was offered the job and asked to start in 2 weeks - which would have been great but I was relocating from a different state. I agreed to the 2 weeks and gave notice to my current employer and my apartment. I had to pay a good-sized fee to leave a couple weeks before my lease ended but I did it anyway. Fast-forward to 2 weeks later - I’m set to move Saturday so I can start work on Monday. 2 days before I moved, on Thursday I got a call saying they messed up on my background check and that I couldn’t start Monday. I was a victim of identify theft and I sent all of my dispute paperwork to them like they asked. I then had a conference call with Lindsey and Cory with Parker and they told me that their recruiter made a mistake and didn’t review my background before calling me to tell me I was clear. So I sent them all the paperwork I had, then never received a call back or an email. My phone calls went unanswered. Then I received a survey asking about my recruiting experience and I basically explained everything above in said survey. I got a call back from someone who runs the surveys and I sent him all of the paperwork I had previously sent to his colleagues. He basically told me that the recruiter quit, and that was the reason that she didn’t review my background before notifying me. The fact is, I should have never interviewed with the client if my background was not cleared beforehand. I was very disappointed by all of this especially because I moved states earlier than planned for this job to be told TWO days before I moved that I couldn’t start on the agreed upon date then later, that I couldn’t start at all - after I had already quit my other job for this opportunity at their request. Furthermore I was given an official offer - not a contingent offer and that was rescinded because their employee did not do their job correctly. Washington Federal didn’t have much to do with my negative experience - but they did turn me down due to a negative background check, even though I furnished all of the paperwork showing I was a victim of identify theft. Parker staffing also went out of their way to tell me that Washington Federal had a problem with my employment and not them.
I appreciate your honest feedback on your experience during the interview and hiring process. I will reach out to Parker to make sure it's a smoother coordination for candidates. Thank you.
