I applied online and had to complete a couple of online tests and questionnaires. Just had to choose the best responses to a few situations. Simple stuff, the correct answer's usually pretty obvious. A few days later I got an email asking me to choose a date for an interview. It said there would be a group task and then a one-to-one interview. I turned up on the day and went to the customer service area. I filled out a visitor form and was told to wait with the other candidates for a few minutes until everyone turned up. There was one other guy in the same situation as me (recent university grad struggling to get a job) and one older lady. We were taken to a boardroom and asked to complete a group task. We had to match six different products to four customers and explain why we made the choices we did. Make sure you speak up and contribute, the interviewer is looking to see how well you can work in a team and to get a sense of your personality, they can't do that if you don't say anything. We then had to fill out a holiday form. I was taken back to the boardroom for my one-to-one interview first. It started with a warm-up question that wasn't scored or graded, it's just to give you a chance to calm down and gather your nerves. I was then asked three questions, each was pretty straightforward. I was then told I'd hear back in 1-2 weeks whether I got the job or not. A few days later I got an email saying I was unsuccessful. A few days after that someone from the same Waitrose branch emailed me asking for sizes for my uniform. Very strange as I didn't get the job and the email was sent at 10pm on a Saturday. Not sure if this was a mistake on the part of the person who emailed me or if I was successful in getting the job but the system was updated wrong. Haven't heard back yet but I'm not holding my breath. Seems a bit unprofessional but mistakes happen.

I applied for a Supermarket Assistant vacancy for all SW London stores (If your applying for a London specific vacancy, please ensure you apply ASAP, they only keep the vacancies for London open for 24 hours max), an early application, is always the best application) I am very happy that I have been given an offer! This was honestly one of the best interview/application processes I've been through, everything went smoothly, and on a timely manner. I applied for the role a week ago, and the next day received an email to say I have been invited for an Interview. You then schedule yourself in for an Interview. Literally 2 days after the Interview, I was called and told I have passed the Interview, and they would offer me a vacancy. My best advice would be to research Waitrose' core values and behaviours, and also research company trends. I have put the questions below. Towards the end of the interview, they'll confirm your right to work, your availability, and your preferred locations.
