      Colloquio per Department Manager

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Waitrose (Londra, Inghilterra) nel mese di gen 2018

      Colloquio

Applied online, then was invited to complete 4 online assessments, some of which were timed. They were fairly straightforward and nothing I hadn't really seen before. One was Situational, one Numerical etc. I was invited to the interview and told it would comprise a 1 to 1 interview and a group interview. Before the interview, I prepped like mad, read up about the history of the JLP and it's values. Even read it's 2016 business statement. They don't ask you anything about that stuff directly but knowing it gives you an opportunity to slip it in and show you have done some homework. The 1 to 1 interview was fairly straightforward. First question: "tell me about a time when you have taken a risk to complete a task?" "Tell me about a time you did something which didn't have the desired outcome?" The Manager was nice, made feel comfortable and talking was easy. Using the STAR technique is advisable as it's easier to paint a picture. The Group interview was ok. The scenario was a disaster day in the store and how would we prioritize the tasks etc. The other candidates were decent, lots of supermarket experience and nobody tried to drown anybody else out. Having not had an interview for over 5 years, it was great experience. I didn't get the job which was fair enough but I wasn't expecting the bog standard rejection email. I thought they would phone the candidates and provide feedback. That's pretty disappointing from a big company. As a manager, I phone everyone back who has an interview to give feedback. How do you learn otherwise? Took over 2 weeks from interview to outcome.
