      Colloquio

I applied online and received an email the next morning saying that they wanted me to do the web-based interview. It took about 30min and was a series of timed questions (20-50 seconds each) that focused around moral value, personality, and skills. I got a second email within a few minutes telling me that I passed the web-based interview and that they wanted to meet me in person. So they gave me a link to click that brought me to the Disney careers website where I had about 1 week of dates to choose from for my interview. The building was easy enough to find, I actually missed the entrance the first time around because my GPS told me to stay on Ball Rd. and not to turn on Cast Place. Not a big deal, just did a legal U-Turn down the road and found my way pretty easy. Went to visitor parking which was to the left and parked, asked the nice security guard where to go and he sent me in the right direction with a big smile and a "good luck!" The cast building was really nice, cool architecture, and an interesting shade of yellow. There was a desk to the left (similar to one found in a hotel lobby) and I checked in with them and they directed me to one of the nice comfy couch seats. There were about 3 people waiting in the lobby to be called in as well but they had several people conducting interviews at the same time. I sat there and watched an informational video about three times before they called me in (I couldn't have been waiting more than 15-20min). The woman who interviewed me was VERY nice! She asked me.... What experience do you have? / Why retail? What do you have to offer Disney? Would you prefer to work indoors or outdoors? Describe a time when you made a customers day magical. It was pretty simple because I was so enthusiastic and talkative that I answered most of the questions before she even got to them. She informed me at the beginning of the interview that the goal was for me to talk more than her so I ran with it. Thankfully, my professional enthusiasm paid off! She offered me a job working retail at California Adventure on the spot! I should be getting an email in the next few days with new hire paperwork to fill out before my next appointment! Bottom line, just act like you want the job. Never stop smiling (but don't make it overly fake, smiling with your eyes helps!) and make sure you express your enthusiasm for Disney. They really are just looking for people who are professional and excited! :)
