Someone from management reached out via email for an informal chat. Sent a response and never heard back. Then a week later, someone from HR emailed for a quick 'chat'. The email that came was labeled 'request for interview'. I followed up by asking if the chat had any structure but was told it was very informal. Turns out during the call, there was a structure, so it was not some informal chat after all. This was all in about 30 minutes. It was a phone-screen-turned-interview. Very misleading.
