I was herded into the interview process by an external recruiter. At no point throughout the entire process did I have any contact with them. They made me take an hour long Hackerrank assessment, which I passed. The recruiter promised they would interview me shortly afterward. Several weeks later, I got a rejection. An hour sunk into taking and passing an assessment and several more into studying for it, and not even an interview or a word from the hiring team before an automated rejection a month after the fact.
