Tell me about a time when you encountered an obstacle in a previous position, and how did you overcome it?
Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Wells Fargo (Ban Phone Savang) nel mese di ott 2022
Colloquio
In late August 2022 I applied online. After a few weeks I was contacted by phone by a recruiter who went over position to see if I met minimum qualifications, salary range and location requirements. Fairly simple process at this point.
After a few days I was informed I was moving on to the interview portion, which was over phone and lasted for one hour.
My position was part of a program called Boots to Banking, which Wells Fargo seeks to interview military veterans for positions. As a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, I figured this was a way to get my into a position with Wells Fargo, even though the vast majority of my work experience has been outside of military.
Interview was scheduled for one hour. First 1/2 was the interview and second half was a written portion. Interview was fairly typical compared to others on her. Many situational questions and how I responded.
When I moved onto the written portion, I realized how disorganized this company is. They were unable to send me question due what they call was a firewall preventing them from emailing me question. I ended up waiting an additional hour just to receive this question. The email portion was also fairly simple. They sent a sent of transactions and you had to write a few paragraphs about the questionable transactions.
Long story short: I’ll never apply to Wells Fargo again. It’s fairly clear to me that this is a company with some serious issues. I read about the situation several months ago about fake interviews in order to get their diversity numbers up. I assumed that there is no way that Wells Fargo could be still pulling this crap so I figured it didn’t hurt to go through the process.
I assumed wrong. I did some research on Wells Fargo and read that after their fake interview scandal, they changed a few things up but most is still the same. They have a goal of 1/2 of interviews coming from diversity ( women, minority, veteran or disabled)
So it didn’t take long to figure out why I was interviewed even though there was zero chance of being offered this job. Basically I assisted this company is looking better for their diversity numbers even though they had no intention of hiring me. I even spoke to the interviewer about what it is about military backgrounds that they are interested in hiring people with that experience. He couldn’t even give me one reason why they want people with military experience. From talking to him it was obvious that the company is forcing recruiters to interview people that help their numbers but they have zero intention of ever hiring.
