I applied online to the job posting. Three days later, the hiring manager emails me his phone number and asks me to call him to set up a time to meet. I email that I am open two days the following week and inquire about his availability. We agree on a time. The manager is very personable and easy to talk to. That said, I did get the sense right away that he was trying to figure out which top producing brokers I knew in the local area...as a big part of his job is to recruit away from competing firms. The office is the typical" wirehouse" with glass-enclosed Broker offices along the walls and support cubicles filling out the inner floor space. My interview was was at 4 pm and the office was empty.
