I received am email from the company recruiter on LinkedIn about the job wanting to know if I wanted to do a phone interview with him. I had one pretty much the next day & learned more about the company & position. He scheduled the 1:1 & that's pretty much where the problems started. The manager interviewing me started off fine; but she see to have a problem with the dates on my resume. She was older than me & asked me if I was going to leave the company after a couple of years. Since it's important to remain professional & keep a positive image on ALL companies you have worked with, I just let her know that I was looking for my "fit". I also don't think she paid any attention to my resume showing that I was in school while working or in between the gaps and/or was paying attention to me when I was speaking.
After we finished up, she said that we all should hear back by the end of the week but she ended up going on vacation. I know this, because I sent a thank you note and got an auto reply reflecting that.
I waited an additional week & sent another follow up email to her & the recruiter with NO RESPONSE.
Several months later they posted the same position again on LinkedIn & rather than reapplying, I sent anoth follow up email to both of them to let them know I was still interested with STILL NO RESPONSE.
Clearly, they do not have the same professionalism, courtesy & respect. It doesn't take much to respond back to a prospect in the interest of preserving your company's reputation.
