I sent my resume and cover letter cold to the generic email and received a phone screen in a little after a week. The phone screen consisted two 20 minute discussions with the CEO and Vice-President seperately.
I was invited to conduct an in-person interview at the Sherman Oaks office (two days after the phone screen).
I interviewed first with the junior staff, two AC's and one AAE. They lasted about 15 minutes each and mostly focused on my PR experience and management style.
I was then taken to lunch with the CEO and vice-president. They asked about my professional background, PR experience and motivation for switching industries.
Following the interviews, I was asked to draft a high-level PR plan for a video game release. I completed the task in a day.
While there were many components to the interview process, I feel they were all necessary to find a qualified candidate and nothing was asked of my that a mid-level PR professional should not be able to handle.
