Colloquio per Value Manager - Toronto

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 5 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Workday (Chicago, IL) nel mese di apr 2016

      Colloquio

Started off pretty standard with an interview with recruitment. Then progressed to behavior type interview with hiring manager. From there the hiring manager assigned me a mock Value presentation where I was given a company and told to develop a short deck and a 10-15 minute presentation to the client explaining the value in building a relationship with Workday. Next I had a quick WebEx review of what I had created with the hiring manager. The next step after that was live in person session in Chicago where I presented my deck to two managers as well as 2 separate interviews with other members of the team. Some quick points on the entire process: - HR/recruiters are actually pretty easy to talk with and get back to you within a reasonable time frame - Hiring Manager was not as good with follow ups as I often had to reach out the the recruiter in order to get a response from him. - When making the decision to fly into Chicago (I had to pay for the flight on my own) the hiring manager told me I was the only person interviewing from Toronto and not to worry or feel nervous if I saw a bunch of other interviews happening at the same time - After my presentation I was told that my presenting skills were very strong. Only negative feedback I was provided was that some of my quantitative calculations could use some refinement. This was the only section I specifically asked for feedback on when I sent and reviewed my deck with the hiring manager to begin with.I specifically pressed to see if there were any other deficiencies within my application and was advised of nothing else. - Was lead to believe I was a very strong candidate, and at the last minute they explained that they had just hired for the position who would be my manager, and that they would look to set that up a few weeks after the in person interviews that day. - After this entire process I waited a week without hearing anything and emailed the recruiter, to which she messaged me back that they had moved on with another candidate. At no point in the entire process did they even mention that there was another candidate as I was told I was the only person from Toronto being brought in. They provided no other feedback or reasoning for me. - A word of caution to anyone else having to pay their own way to these in-person interviews - seriously consider whether or not you want to pay out of pocket for this process. They will lead you on thinking you are a lock, when indeed there is a strong chance you will not be the selected candidate. Do not waste your time and money like I did, unless you are absolutely sure you want to work there or the commute is not an issue. - Explained after the fact the there was more of a travel commitment then previously advertised - Pay has a variable component, so I don't think it would add up compared to competitors, unless you strongly believe in the company's growth prospects. Overall, I feel that my time and money was wasted, as I delivered a very strong presentation (to which they mentioned they were really impressed with my public speaking/presentation abilities) to a deck they had already reviewed and approved. I believe that all along they already had someone else in mind and should have at least warned me about this before I spent time and money to book a flight and head all the way out to the in person interviews/presentation. If you are someone in my position in the future, then I hope this review can help you avoid the same fate.

      Domanda 1

Presentation. Basic behavioral questions. Nothing too out of the ordinary or difficult.
