Back to back interviews, 5 different people, 3 hours. 15 min powerpoint presentation on an Excel topic (VLookup, Concatenate, Sorting, Conditional formatting) at conclusion. A lot of preparation is expected from candidates, but the overall experience and dialogue is casual. I exceeded job requirements and skills but was not selected. Recruiter called me to decline which was a nice gesture. Did not receive any specific feedback other than the interview group felt more comfortable with other candidates which indicates selection process is highly subjective and personality / perception driven. Therefore, your qualifications, background, and relevant experience are not a guarantee you'll get an offer.
